报告摘要:Codes with symbols over the ring of integers over the quaternary alphabet Z4 = {0,1,2,3} have played an important role in solving old problems in coding theory as well as in constructing new and optimal codes. Codes over Z4 have also demonstrated their importance by being applied to construct excellent classes of sequences that are used in international mobile communication standards. Codes over Z4 have also many interesting connections in many areas in mathematics including combinatorial t-designs.This talk will give a brief introduction to codes over Z4 and review some results on codes, sequences and t-designs that are constructed from codes over Z4. Some related open research problems will be discussed.

报告人简介:Tor Helleseth教授是挪威科学院院士,Bergen大学终身教授,IEEE Fellow,信息科学领域的国际著名学者,一直致力于基础理论和应用研究,在编码理论、信息安全、组合数学等领域都做出了开创性和奠基性的工作。在国际著名期刊上发表学术论文400余篇。其中,在信息论领域顶级期刊《IEEE Transactions on Information Theory》发表学术论文108篇(到目前为止,全世界只有5人在该期刊上发表论文超过百篇),Tor Helleseth曾与来自30多个不同国家的130多位专家学者有过合作,出版学术专著15部,发表ESI高被引论文43篇。1997年因为他对编码与密码方面的贡献,被遵选为IEEE Fellow ( 每年仅有0.1%的IEEE会员当选)。他的研究成果成功在第三代全球移动通信IMT-2000,W- CDMA标准中用作短上行链路加扰码。
